SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Examination, 2023 Important Date 

Date for submission of online SSC Steno 2023 applications: 02.08.2023 to 23.08.2023

Last date for receipt of SSC Steno 2023 application: 23.08.2023

Last date for making online SSC Steno 2023 fee payment: 23.08.2023

Date of Window for Application Form Correction and online payment of Correction Charges: 24.08.2023 to 25.08.2023 (2300 hours)

Date of SSC Steno 2023 Computer Based Examination: October, 2023

The Staff Selection Commission will hold an open competitive Computer Based Examination for recruitment of Stenographer Grade C (Group B, Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade D (Group C) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India.   

SSC STENO Tentative Vacancies : 1207
(a) SSC Steno Vacancies will be determined in due course.
(b) Vacancies of SSC Stenographer Grade C and Stenographers Grade D are in Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of Central Government, including their Attached and Subordinate offices located in various States and Union Territories all over the country.

SSC STENO Eligibility 

Nationality / Citizenship :
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st  January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar,  Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of  Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire,  Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 

SSC STENO Educational Qualification :  ( As on 23.08.2023)
Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent or higher examination from a recognized Board or University.

SSC STENO Age Limit (as on 01.08.2023): (a) Stenographer Grade C: 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2023, i.e., candidates born not before 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.2005 are eligible to apply.
(b) Stenographer Grade D: 18 to 27 years as on 01.08.2023, i.e., Candidates born not before 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2005 are eligible to apply.  

SSC STENO Mode of Selection:   

All the SSC STENO candidates whose online applications are found to be in order will be called to appear in the SSC STENO Computer Based Examination and Skill Test.
The SSC STENO Skill Test will be of qualifying nature and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the Skill Test for different categories of candidates.
The candidates will have to appear for the Skill Test in Stenography.

How to apply SSC STENO Application Form:    

(a) SSC STENO 2023 Applications are required to be submitted in online mode only at the  official website of SSC Headquarters i.e. https://ssc.nic.in.

(b) Last date for submission of SSC STENO 2023 online applications is 23-08-2023 (5.00 PM).  

In the online application form, SSC STENO candidate will have to indicate the posts for which they are applying i.e. Stenographer Grade C or Stenographer Grade D or the both.    

SSC STENO Application Fee :

RUPEES ONE HUNDRED ONLY (Rs.100) can be paid through SBI Challan / SBI Net banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards of any bank.

Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.

SSC STENO Online fee can be paid by the candidates up to 23-08-2023 (5.00 PM).
